A franchise of this New York-based women’s shoe brand chose for their New Orleans location an 800 square foot space in New Orleans’ Canal Place. The solution of terrain-like raked and cantilevered perimeter shelving was employed to accommodate the ambitious quantity of 150 different styles while attempting to maintain a high-end aesthetic commensurate with the price point all within a modest sales area of 600 s.f. The angled display shelves were also employed to increase the sense of depth and to pull the shopper into the space. Rather than mimic the brand colors of bright pink, black and white, materials and colors were selected that simply ‘suggest†the marketing package: sheer pink glazed walls, coffee brown recycled wood veneer casework and cool white ceramic tile floor and back wall. An off-white floating ceiling echoes the floor plane, and a vintage 1960’s Murano chandelier with ‘shoe horn†shaped crystals holds the center of the space.
